Chapter 1116: Worthy Under the Heavens
"Then… let's see what you have, White Face."
"If that is what you want, Ugly Face."
"You dare!?"
And of course, any species of the female variety would most probably take offense in what Riley had just said — and Nine was not any different.
"I would have you know that I am the most beautiful of my kind!" Nine thrust her staff straight onto Riley's chest, and when Riley just used his arm to block her attack, a small smile started to crawl on her face, "Got you!"
Nine then twisted her staff, causing it to violently spin while extending almost instantly at the same time — creating a cyclone that violently pushed Riley straight through the wall and to the outside—no. The staff continued to extend, causing Riley to hit his back several times on several houses.
"Heh…" Nine let out a small scoff — placing the side of her palm above her eyebrows as she pretended to look for Riley in the distance, "...Goodbye, White Face."
Nine then twisted her staff again, making it shrink and causing even more damage due to how fast it was retracting — she did not even seem to care at all, however, as she very slowly turned her focus to Miss Pepondosovich.
"Now that your friend is dead…" Nine shook her staff and placed it on her side as soon as it returned to its normal length, "...It's time for me to have fun with you, Rodent."
"What are you talking about…?" Miss Pepondosovich just glanced at Nine before grabbing the food she managed to save from all the shockwaves and blasts that were happening earlier, "...He's there."
"Hmn?" Nine squinted her eyes as she looked up to where Miss Pepondosovich was pointing, only to see Riley just casually standing on the tip of her staff, "Wha—"
And before Nine could even say anything, Riley kicked her right on the face; causing her to let go of the staff and just violently roll across the floor toward the door of the tavern. Before she could hit the door, however, Riley opened it so that it wouldn't be destroyed.
He values private property, after all.
He then just calmly walked outside the tavern while watching Nine continue to violently roll until a large fountain at the center of the plaza where the tavern was stopped her.
"Hah…" Nine's lips started to twitch as her fur got wet with all the water falling down on her. She did not react violently at all, however, as she just slowly stood up from the fountain while keeping her eyes locked onto Riley, who was just casually approaching her while carrying her staff, "You—"
"This is yours." And once again, without letting her say a word, Riley carefully the staff at her.
"Wow…" Nine's trembling lips formed into a smirk as she caught the staff, "...What a gentleman, I bet the heavens must like you, White Face."
"They probably do not," Riley shook his head before just standing there and waiting for Nine to move, "I destroyed it."
"Oh…? What a coincidence…" Nine then got off the fountain and lightly slammed the end of her staff on the ground — and as she did so, her robes changed into a red and gold armor with carvings of what seemed to be a long dragon all over it. A skirt also grew from her waist, before just separating in half to reveal the armor also covering her legs — leaving only her head, her hands, and her feet completely bare,
"...I destroyed my heavens too."
"Is that so?" Riley let out a small breath before putting on a stance, and as he did so, his clothes instantly ripped into a million pieces; replaced by an orange gi with a black belt wrapping around the waist, "Then, I suppose this should be fun, no? As someone who once said to me…
…Let's dance."
"There isn't going to be too much dancing from you!" Nine then leaped into the air before releasing a barrage of thrusts; her staff, almost seemingly multiplying into the hundreds with how fast she was attacking Riley.
Riley, however, was just deflecting all of them without even moving his feet.
"Take this, and this!" Nine then completely changed the patterns of her attack as she moved to Riley's side and started swinging her staff, even letting it bounce from the ground so that Riley would not be able to predict it — but Riley just completely caught her staff this time… with one hand.
"I suppose you were right, Nine," Riley then let out a small sigh as he tightened his grip on the staff, not letting Nine retrieve it at all, "Not too much dancing from me at all. Nine…
…you are outmatched in this fight."
"Me…? You're talking to me!?" Nine's high-pitched voice started to roar across the plaza, causing the crowd who had already gathered there to just look at each other as they finally realized who was fighting.
"That's… isn't that Nine!?"
"Nine!? Does… does that mean Monkeh is in the port!? Why would she be all the way out here!?"
"Is… is she alone!? Is her gang also here!?"
The crowd started whispering and shouting at each other, but it did not really matter at all for Nine as she just glared at Riley,
"Me…? Outmatched!?" Nine screamed as she tried pulling her staff back, but found that she could not even budge it for even a single millimeter.
"I am afraid so," Riley let out a small sigh as he shook his head, "Perhaps I will let you go and you can bring someone stronger than you, Nine?"
"Let go of my staff and say that again."
"How about this, then?" Riley then let go of the staff, but not completely. He left his thumb and pinky finger holding it.
"You—" Nine started tugging on it, but still, the result was the same — she could not even budge it for a single millimeter.
"As I said," Riley sighed, "Outmatched. The fact that you can not even get your staff back is already proof of that, Nine. Go home."
"Smug. But for how long!?" Nine then let out a roar as her red hair suddenly turned gold. And with her fangs slightly growing longer, her muscles did too, "You are just a frog in a we—eugh!?"
And before Nine could finish her words, Riley pulled the staff away and then just quickly placed its tip right in her opened mouth.
"!?"
"I did tell you to go home, Nine," Riley let out a small sigh as he grabbed the back of Nine's head with his other hand and tilted it up, "Whatever happens to you now, it is your fault."
"W—"
And without even any hesitation, Riley just pushed the staff down into Nine's mouth and down her throat — her neck, expanding as he did so. And before Nine could struggle to remove it, Riley pushed it down even more violently, twisting it at the same time and completely destroying her insides — and when it couldn't destroy anything anymore, it just completely came out from one of her lower holes; which one, well, no one could really tell.
But as soon as the staff was out on the other end, Riley pulled it down before lifting it up in the air — completely turning Nine into a skewer.
"Ugh…"
"Oh…?" And as Riley stabbed the staff into the fountain, he heard Nine groaning; her hands and feet, still twitching, "...You are still alive, Nine? I do have to say that your durability is higher than most I have fought. Could it be that you—"
And before Riley could finish his words, the staff in his hand just suddenly disappeared — turning into a puff of smoke along with Nine.
"Oh?" Riley could really only blink a couple of times as he backed away while watching the smoke just fly away — not dispersing, but truly flying away toward a certain direction,
"Interesting."
"Did… did he just kill Nine!?" And as soon as Nine disappeared, the crowd of people started running away.
"Shit! Monkeh's gang is going to be here soon! Run, everyone. Run!"
"If I knew there was going to be a gang war, I would have stayed in Breezefarm! There is nothing—"
And before the crowd could fully disperse, a shadow suddenly landed in front of Riley — completely shattering and destroying the fountain as it did so.
"Oh?" Riley tilted his head to the side as he looked at the shadow, only to see Nine standing in front of him again—no. It wasn't Nine.
The one standing in front of him right now was much taller and more muscular — but most importantly, she had wings on her back.
"Are you the Monkeh they all keep referring to?" Riley just casually asked as he looked at the stranger from head to toe.
"My name is Three," Three stretched her arms to the side along with her wings, revealing the staff hiding beneath them,
"And you are not worthy of Monkeh's time at all."
