Chapter 2487  Dinner at home

Because it was already late at night, Ayu used her car to drive us back home.

Marika's Aunt tried to insist on coming with us but we managed to lose her somehow.

She was too exhausted to run after us, after all. Furthermore, Marika's two guards followed us in their car before Kagura could come and ask them.

Minutes after that, she called Marika asking us to turn around and pick her up. Of course, we pretended we couldn't do it anymore and continued to drive away.

She could still go home to their place with Ichihara-san there anyway.

When I asked Marika if she'd be fine later, the girl simply giggled before saying she could handle it if her Aunt scolded her later.

Well, as a worrywart, I'll definitely escort her home along with the other girls who wouldn't be able to stay the night.

Unfortunately, given the time and the rain still coming down hard outside, the other girls couldn't come tonight but they would be joining us after through a video call.

With that, we continued on our way home, stopping by some shops to buy some dessert and other food we could add for dinner using the bonus pay I'd received from my rich enrollees.

Upon reaching our house, we were greeted by the delicious aroma of dinner prepared by Akane and Miwa-nee.

Marika who's visiting for the first time, her eyes sparkled at the sight of our house. It might not be as big as the place she's staying at but she could tell it's livelier and more welcoming.

She held onto my arm as we walked through the front door.

As always, Akane was there waiting for us, decked with her apron, looking as beautiful as ever. She welcomed us with her signature smile before her eyes focused on Marika.

"Oh? Sister Marika? Welcome!" Akane's eyes widened a little bit as she took in the girl's appearance.

They had already interacted through the group chat but this was the first time they were meeting face-to-face.

Marika smiled back, the warmth in it seemingly melting away the cold we experienced from outside. "Thank you for having me, Sister Akane. You look beautiful in person."

"The same goes for you. You're as elegant as ever. Look, your ringlets are still intact," Akane replied in a lighthearted tone, making it easier for the girl to adapt to this new environment.

"Hehe. Ruki-kun loves to twirl it with his fingers. He refused to believe me when I said it's all natural and only straightened when wet."

"Pfft. It's Ruki, he'll find everything about his girl fascinating. Right, husband?" Akane winked at me as she stepped forward, latching her arm around my neck to kiss me.

Marika's cheeks turned a shade of pink at Akane's affectionate display but then she tugged at my sleeve, asking for the same treatment. I couldn't resist and bent down to kiss her as well.

But because of this display, even Ayu and Sena couldn't hold back as they went to me for a kiss. Even though I came home with them, it was as if I welcomed them home with Akane.

In any case, I wasn't going to complain, they're my women, and I love them all. Plus, the more the merrier, right?

After this, we continued inside the house. Miwa-nee was still busily preparing in the kitchen. I instantly put down my bag and helped her finish the preparation while the girls waited in the living room.

Minoru was there, playing the console again. It didn't take that long before Marika also started getting along with him and like the other girls, she challenged him to the game he was playing.

The result? She lost.

Due to that, Marika ran to me, asking me to avenge her. Really, she's an adorable addition to tonight's festivity.

Soon, the dinner was prepared and we called everyone.

Ayu was also meeting Miwa-nee for the first time so there was a little awkwardness when they met. But soon enough, the two women hit it off even though Ayu could only bring up topics with boxing as their focus. She’s really a boxing fanatic.

Miwa-nee still engaged her with the conversation though as it was also rare for her to have someone near her age around. Usually, there’s only Shio who would drink with her from time to time.

"You see, Miwa-nee, Ruki is too much. He has what it takes to be great at boxing but he won't even entertain being a pro," Ayu said with a pout as she complained about me to the oldest woman in the house.

"Well, it's Ruki. He's the type who won't sacrifice a lot of his time on something if he can use it to be with his girls," Miwa-nee replied as she placed a steaming plate of food in front of me.

At the moment, we're already sitting around the table. Next to me were Akane and Marika. Sena conceded because she was going to stay the night with us.

As for her uniform tomorrow, Akane would be lending hers. Their body builds weren't that different after all.

With Marika eating at a dining table like this, the girl couldn't help but tear up slightly because of how warm she was being welcomed. After all, she seldom eats with someone and even at school, before meeting me, she's alone despite being surrounded by her supposed followers.

"I love this, Ruki-kun. I wish we could do this every time."

"Well then, should I start bringing you home for dinner every day? Your aunt will be against it and for sure, the Ichihara will make a fuss again."

"Un. You're right. Then after we settle the issue with my engagement to Jun-kun, I'll move in with you." Marika said, her voice filled with hope, "Is it fine, Akane? Miwa-nee?"

Akane nodded before poking my cheek, "Of course. As long as husband allows it, you can even sleep in the same bed as us."

She winked which made Marika flustered at the thought of sharing a bed with me.

Miwa-nee, on the other hand, didn't say anything. She just continued to serve food and watched over us, her expression was filled with warmth.

By the time we finished our dinner, it was my turn to serve them dessert. And while we were at it, we started the video call with the other girls who couldn't come tonight.

Most of them were envious of Marika who was having dinner with us and immediately started to tease her. That made the girl’s cheeks redder than the strawberries on the shortcake we were having for dessert.

They asked a lot of questions about her, especially the girls not from our school. Thankfully, Mizuki and Otoha are helping the girl better familiarize herself with everyone.

After that, the girls started talking about their days and their plans for the coming week.

Naturally, I also talked about how busy it will be for us because we're going to start preparing for the Cultural Festival. And that became the topic for the rest of the night.

We even brought up the plan of having Yue perform. And the girls became eager to spread the rumor about it on different platforms on the internet to build up hype.

Honestly, they’re even more excited than us. And that’s to say we hadn’t brought up that topic to her manager, Kaoru-san, yet.

We’ll be in for an earful when that happens.

Just like this, our night passed by with laughter and teases filled with warmth.
