The green-robed Zhong Gui had fallen silent along with everyone else, curious to hear Shun Long's answer.

Even he, as the clan leader of the Zhong clan and a renowned peak-stage Dao Emperor, couldn't see a way out for Shun Long without handing over his immortal-grade spirit stones to a major power like the Tianxuan dynasty or the 'White Tiger chamber of commerce'.

Otherwise, with Xuan Bo having revealed his secret, it was only a matter of time before Shun Long was hunted down and became the number one target across the continent.

And yet, to Zhong Gui's surprise, the azure-robed Dao King just looked at Jiang Tianfang and cupped his hands before he answered ''Don't worry, uncle Jiang. I wasn't planning on returning to the Holy sect to begin with. I'm going to go directly to the central region this time.''

Both Zhong Gui and Jiang Tianfang were taken aback by Shun Long's declaration. Instead of hiding away and consolidating his strength for the next hundred or even thousand years, he was planning to head directly into the tiger's den?! ''Young friend Shun, I know it's not my place to say anything but you can't be hasty with your decision here. It's one thing if you plan to remain in our northern region or visit the south, the west, or even the east. But to go directly to the central region? You should know that all the major powers have their bases there. It's practically impossible for you to survive in that place!''

Jiang Tianfang remained silent but inwardly he agreed with Zhong Gui's words.

Shun Long may not know the dangers of the central region since he hasn't been there before, but both Jiang Tianfang and Zhong Gui were well aware of how dangerous that place was.

An average peak-stage Dao King was qualified to roam through the continent and even visit some of the more dangerous places, but the central region was where all the crouching tigers and hidden dragons of the continent gathered.

Even geniuses like Xuan Bo and Huang Yun couldn't claim absolute superiority over all of their peers there. To Zhong Gui's distraught however, Shun Long merely smiled and cupped his hands at him before he answered

''Thank you for your guidance, senior. However, I've already decided on this matter. If I want to fulfill my plans, I have to head to the central region!''

Shun Long didn't explain the reasoning behind his decision, but Zhong Gui eventually nodded his head and let out a sigh, not pressing the matter any further.

The leader of the Zhong clan looked favorably upon the young Dao King in front of him, but his connection with Shun Long wasn't deep enough to offer any more advice. He had already said everything he needed to say.

Of course, it wasn't like going to the central region was a bad decision by itself. The opportunities one could find there were just as plenty as the ever-present dangers hidden in every corner. However, in Zhong Gui's eyes, the chances that a group of peak-stage Dao Kings could survive them were nearly nonexistent.

Throwing a glance at his son, Jiang Tianfang had a conflicted look in his eyes, but eventually he fell silent as well.

He knew that Jiang Chen was going to follow Shun Long in the central region no matter what he said, and Jiang Tianfang wasn't someone to restrict his son or shelter him in the first place.

''Alright. Since you children have come all the way to my Zhong clan, I should treat you to some good wine or that old fart will really start nagging after you are gone.''

Standing up, the green-robed Zhong Gui then waved his hand taking out a large jar of wine along with 7 small cups, before placing them in front of Shun Long and the rest.

A moment later, a thick, flowery fragrance filled the room as the middle-aged man removed the lid, causing Jiang Tianfang's eyes to light up, a wide smile adorning his face.

''Hahaha. The 'Vermilion Flower wine'! You really aren't stingy old Zhong.'' Jiang Tianfang then turned to Liu Mei and the rest and continued ''This wine is not only extremely expensive, but you can only get it in the 'Northern Sovereign's city'. It's considered the number-one wine across the entire northern region! Since the old man brought it out, there's no need to hold back!''

Zhong Gui's eye twitched at Jiang Tianfang's shameless remarks, but he still didn't retort. He had indeed paid a fortune for this wine and was normally extremely reluctant to take it out, but since Jiang Tianfang had asked, he couldn't act as if he didn't have any.

''Nephew Shun, when are you planning to leave for the central region?''

''I'm going to visit my parents first. I'll head to the central region after that.''

Turning his gaze towards Bai Longtian and the rest, Shun Long then continued

''I'm planning to leave for the Night star continent tomorrow. What about you?''

Nodding his head, Bai Longtian downed the cup of wine in his hands and answered

''I'll come with you, brother Shun. It's been so long since I've seen my father too, so it's time to go back.''

Liu Mei didn't respond, as if her answer was already obvious. She was going to go wherever Shun Long was going.

As for Xingyi, she nodded her head and then lowered it in silence, a hint of guilt appearing in her eyes as she remembered how long it had been since she had seen her family.

Unlike Bai Longtian whose father was the leader of a powerful city and had plenty of experts under his command, Xingyi knew that her family's situation in the 'Silver mountain' wasn't that good at the time she left to participate in the Holy sect's test.

Although it wasn't her fault and she couldn't have helped with it even if she had stayed back, Xingyi still harbored guilt towards her parents.

In the end, it was only Jiang Chen who chose to remain in the Zhong clan and spend some more time with his father, until Shun Long and the rest returned from the Night star continent.
