Chapter 45 Hannah
Chapter 45 Hannah
It was as if Xander had an understanding of the mind weapon and he dismissed it. He could feel that something appeared in his soul.
He could feel it. It wasn't like the soul space, no. It was like his mind but in his stomach.
Xander walked towards the girl and picked up a stone which he use to sit on.
'It's amazing how I can hear her from far away. Her groans are not loud but I can hear them.' Xander thought as he made his way to her side and put his stone there to sit.
Immediately the girl opened her eyes the first thing she saw was a young man sitting close to her.
She immediately furrowed her brows as she began looking around for something quickly.
"Here."
"Ahh!" The girl was startled as she looked in front of her and saw Xander giving her her the golden staff.
She took it from his hand and looked at him as he went back to grill some more meat which were in the flames for some time.
"Are you a player?" The girl asked, making Xander furrow his brows.
"You're also a player?" Xander asked.
He was really hoping that she would be an NPC as there was no way for her to survive in this place. But now that he knows that she was also from the outside world...
"Wow. I haven't seen any players since the game reset." The girl said with sparkling eyes.
"I'm Hannah." The girl extended her hand and Xander shook it while saying his name to her, "Xander."
She didn't say her surname so he won't say his.
After some time Xander finished grilling the meat of the grant king and then handed some over to Hannah.
"Here. Eat up." She took the meat from Xander's hand reluctantly and then she looked at Xander as he bit a large chunk of meat from the meat and chewed.
The girl then took a little bite and then her eyes widened in shock.
Xander noticed this and asked calmly, "What happened?"
"I... I got a stat point." The girl said, bewildered.
"Oh. It's your first time eating monster meat?" Xander raised a brow.
"I haven't eaten anything since I entered this cave yesterday."
Xander chuckled bitterly with a sad smile as he took a bite out of the meat in his hand.
"What's funny?" The girl asked with a frown.
"Nothing, nothing. It's just that I got here earlier than you."
The girl raised a brow.
"How long have you been here?"
"I don't know. It should be more than three weeks now."
The girl's mouth dropped as she heard his words.
"Three weeks?! And you're still here?!"
Xander laughed loudly as he casted a gaze towards the girl.
"You don't know what's waiting at the entrance of the cave, so you won't understand." Xander said and rested his back on the wall behind him.
"You've been to the entrance?" The girl asked with wide eyes as she stood up.
"I can direct you if you want. I don't really care."
Hannah furrowed her brows as she asked, "Won't you try to escape too?"
Xander sighed.
"No. Not now."
'I have to practice with the mind scythe very well to get used to it. I'll be ready then.' Xander thought as he closed his eyes.
Hannah gritted her teeth and asked him for the directions.
"There, just keep going forward until you see sunlight." Xander said as he pointed a particular direction.
"Alright then. I guess this is goodbye. Thanks for saving me earlier." Hannah said and proceeded forward, into the path Xander pointed for her.
'Why are you feeling guilty Xander? You can't afford to carry any leeches. I still feel for her, the manticore is going going to tear her apart.' Xander thought.
He has seen the manticore tear the body of the minotaur which he couldn't hurt with a level 20 weapon and it's speed.
Not to talk of it's poison tail. She won't survive.
"Hey Hannah!" Xander called out.
Hannah, who was annoyed about the cowardly actions of Xander turned as she heard him say her name.
"An advice. You should be at least a level 50 before you try to go there."
Xander opened his eyes and they glowed a red colour. Hannah felt a chill in her spine when her eyes met Xander's.
"Or else you would die." Xander concluded.
Hannah smiled.
"Are you trying to scare me or what?"
Xander chuckled. 'Scare you? I'm scared, and I'm far above your level.'
"I'm not trying to put pressure. It's just an advice." Xander's tone remained flat.
"Well thank you for your advice but I don't need it. Cowards like you need it though." Hannah walked away after that.
It took Xander a whole two minutes to digest the fact that she just called him a coward. If anything she's overconfident.
"She just came here yesterday and she thinks no creature in this cave can match up to her."
Xander scoffed.
"And she was almost killed by the grant king earlier."
Xander decided to leave her. She wasn't worth it anyway. It would be a loss to the world for a pretty girl like her to die but he doesn't care.
'Hannah. I don't know why that name sounds familiar.' Xander thought.
The name sounded so familiar but Xander couldn't put a finger on it.
'She must be someone big for me to know her. I don't know a lot of people.' Xander thought as he reasoned his lonely life.
He never found others interesting because they shared other interests. Some boys loved football, some loved racing while some loved fighting.
The only person he was able to be friends with was Harry. Harry was like a brother to him. They shared the same passion and although they had opposite lives, Harry could put up with Xander's quiet nature.
'I just hope he's okay.' Xander thought.
He tried to sleep but he couldn't as he could o ly think about how Hannah was going to die.
"I can't believe I'm going to help her. She's so arrogant." Xander picked up his spear and activated his armour before making his way towards the exit of the cave.
