Chapter 34 Escape
Chapter 34 Escape
"Where am I this time?" Xander mumbled tiredly as he saw himself in a black space.
The space around him warped and the black space turned into a large field. On one side he saw humans wearing all sorts of armour and holding all types of weapons. On the other side he saw a single person in a hood with nothing but a blood red scythe in his hands.
The person raised his hand and the skies turned red. Figures of inhuman creatures began appearing behind him.
The humans with multiple weapons suddenly let out a war cry as they charged towards the lone man that now had an army of different types of creatures.
The creatures behind the man suddenly charged down the slope, letting out roars of all kinds. Slithering, crawling, running, and even flying monsters were all in this man's army.
"The fuck is going on!!" Xander shouted at the top of his lungs and he suddenly his vision went black.
Xander opened his eyes to see a beauty staring at him. "I died." He whispered, making Sandra to raise her brow in confusion.
"What are you dreaming about let's go. I found a way out of here." Sandra said as she walked away towards the hole that Xander and Harry came from.
"You came back?" Xander asked in confusion as he thought she was too scared to explore the dangerous sides.
"I found a way put but I won't be able to go myself so I came to get you guys." Sandra shrugged. "Seems like taking the easy path was best."
Xander gently scratched the back of his head with a slight smile. Harry looked at him and looked at Xander with a shrug whiel signaling for him to come along as Sandra already started walking away.
"Wait!" Xander shouted as he stood up.
Sandra and Harry turned around to see Xander staring at where the waterfall was coming from.
"You guys go ahead without me." Xander said as he looked at the hole very well.
He didn't notice this before but there was a red aura emitting out of the hole and something about it feels familiar. He had the same feeling in his dream.
Although Harry didn't want to go without Xander he finally agreed to after he traced the path on the second map that was in Xander's hand.
Xander didn't waste too much time and went into the hole of the water fall. Although the water currents and pressure tried to push Xander but with more than thirty strength points, he could grip the walls firmly.
Xander followed a spiral path forward. Although the water pushed him, he still persevered until he started seeing light.
Also, he noticed that water directly from the waterfall didn't consume flesh like the main pool where he came from.
Soon, Xander emerged from the water and found himself inside a cave. There were holes in the roof through which water flowed down.
Xander went out of the water.
There were skeletons around and they were all covered with a red aura. In the center was an elevated alter which had multiple symbols covering it. The symbols glowed red and the place had an ancient temple feel.
Xander didn't want to go close as he was avoiding anything that could trigger the third challenge of the cave.
He was feeling like he had to go to the alter but he resisted his urges and went back into the water to return to Harry and Xander.
He let the current carry him. When he was about to reach the hole leading to that river where flesh was dissolved he immediately used his hands to hold himself from going down by pushing the walls beside him.
He then crawled down and ran towards Harry and Sandra.
...
Sandra and Harry were confronted by large centipedes.
Using his Supreme advantage of the shadows and darkness Harry brought death upon the centipedes.
Sandra was extremely fast and graceful. Every swing of her twin blades took a centipede's life.
Soon they killed all the twelve centipedes and Sandra began panting tiredly.
Harry came out of the shadows and looked at her with one of his brows raised as he saw her sweating. He swallowed spit as he gazed at Sandra from head to toe.
She was indeed extremely beautiful and her figure was alluring. He couldn't help but imagine her in his arms.
Harry then imagined getting married to her, how many kids he would have. 'Focus Harry. You can't have kids if you're dead.'
"Come on. We have to keep going." Harry said with a tired face.
"Just... another minute..."
After some seconds Sandra sprung up from the floor and turned back. Harry too faced the way they came from as they heard the sound of something with two legs running.
Their first thought was that it was the minotaur but the footsteps were quick and light so they ruled out that thought.
Both pulled out their weapons and got ready to face any monstrosity that would emerge from within the cave.
They both sighed in relief as Xander emerged from the tunnel into the light.
"Did you see anything?" Harry asked.
Xander told them that he found an empty cave and didn't include the fact that he saw an eerie looking alter inside.
They then set off on their way towards the place that Sandra saw an exit out of this goddamn cave.
When they got to the end of a tunnel that lead into an open space Harry and Xander couldn't help but be shocked.
Out of the tunnels was a huge surrounding area. They could see a huge labyrinth below and multiple holes on top of the ceiling through which light came through.
At the other end of the labyrinth they could see a huge hole and faint trees in the distance.
However, something flew around the labyrinth. It was a fly, the same type as the one that Harry killed a while ago. And there were almost ten of them flying around, killing other smaller monsters.
"Not that again. Last time I had to use my ultimate skill to kill just one." Harry said, losing hope already.
"You're right. Even if we are stronger than before, those flies are really strong." Xander said. He then looked up to the holes in the ceiling.
An idea suddenly came into his mind and he brought up his particular status.

He then tapped on one of his skills.
[Skill: Primordial bind Lv 3]
[Current range: 20 metres]
[Cost: 30 Mana points per chain]
Xander looked at the ceiling and roughly calculated that it was over hundred metres from them. The labyrinth below was over a hundred metres below so they didn't know how to get down either.
"I have an idea. Do you know how to climb?"
...
Xander put all the skill points he had into Primordial bind and now it could reach 180 metres long, more than enough to get to the ceiling.
And yes, they want to escape through the ceiling. They couldn't go down to the labyrinth or else those large flies would be alerted.
Xander stretched out his hand to summon the Primordial binds but immediately he was about to summon it, a loud roar came from behind them, a familiar one.
"The minotaur!" Harry shouted as he looked at Xander, signaling him to hurry.
Three disks of swirling energy appeared in front of him and with his mind he shot the chains out towards the hole's circumference.
Xander nodded to Harry and Sandra as they grabbed a chain each and began to climb up as if their lives depended on it... cause it actually did.
Xander didn't climb yet as the chains were slipping from the roofs so he used his mind to hold it from coming loose.
After some time Harry and Sandra reached the roof and went out. They were excited as they saw the blue skies and the sun again.
At this point Xander could hear the hoofs of the minotaur clearly. He grabbed the last chain and began climbing upwards while at the same time using his mind to hold the chain from above.
The next moment, Xander felt as if a heavy weight fell upon his mind and he looked down to see the minotaur holding the chain he was on.
The minotaur ran back into the tunnel with the chain in it's hand and Xander looked at Harry one more time with a smile before he was dragged back into the tunnel.
Harry and Sandra both stared at that position for hours, waiting to see whether Xander would come back but he didn't.
"He... he's dead." Sandra mumbled, fear settling in her heart.
