Holy Necromancer: Rebirth of the Strongest Mage

Chapter 1092: Time Prison

Chapter 1092: Time Prison

1092  Chapter 1092: Time Prison

While he was walking away, Karyk gazed at his desolate back. Even if the man was in an entirely different timeline, did that mean he was invisible? No. There was something that could devour even the timelines.

The essence of the abyss started gathering in his hand. He was going to Devour the man and his memories.

"Don't you get bored of devouring me?" Before Karyk could do something, the man reacted. It was as if he could already guess what Karyk was thinking.

"Ah, right. This is your first time for now. You won't understand what I am saying." The young lord sighed. He raised his hand and summoned a mirror.

"This is the mirror of memories. It can be used to show someone a certain section of your memories. The moment you are done watching, you can decide what to do."

The man didn't even stay behind and kept walking away slowly.

When he reached the corpses of his followers, he clapped once. The head of the team leader flew back, and his body started rising.

His head merged with his body, and returned to his usual position. It was as if his life was being rewinded. The others also returned to life.

However, even if they were brought back to life, they couldn't remember anything from this moment onwards. It was as if everything that had happened from this moment onwards, hadn't happened in this life.

They weren't killed by Karyk, and similarly, they didn't remember it happening.

They only remembered that Karyk had ignored their request and was walking away.

The team leader stood up and was about to rush to stop Karyk, but he came to a sudden halt.

He saw the young lord standing in front of him, which left him aghast. Wasn't the young lord far away just a second ago? Why was he right before them? Something didn't feel right.

In the distance, they saw Karyk standing still, looking at a mirror. As the mirror's back was facing them, they couldn't see what Karyk was seeing.

Meanwhile, Karyk delved into the memories of the young Time Lord, witnessing their first encounter from the Time Lord's perspective.

Initially, the Time Lord was shocked. Questions flooded his mind: who was this Karyk? What were his motives? But Karyk offered no answers, instead launching an attack, intent on devouring the Time Lord.

A desperate struggle ensued, but Karyk's strength proved overwhelming. Just as defeat seemed inevitable, the young Time Lord activated his time reversal ability, sending himself back one day.

Reality reset, and Karyk once again encountered the Time Lord, seemingly for the "first time." This time, the Time Lord was prepared, launching a preemptive strike to prevent Karyk from gaining the upper hand.

Tragically, even then, he failed.  Karyk was too powerful. Defeated and on the verge of being devoured, the Time Lord was forced to reverse time once more.

He relived the same day again and again, desperately trying to alter his actions, to avoid Karyk entirely. But fate, it seemed, was inescapable. No matter what he did, Karyk always found him.

Even seeking help from others proved useless.  Karyk was a force as relentless and destructive as Carnage reincarnated. He could not be stopped.

In some attempts, the consequences were even more dire, with Karyk's actions drawing the attention and assistance of the Aetherian Beasts.

The young Time Lord had endured this agonizing cycle forty-nine times, each day ending in a confrontation with Karyk. And for Karyk, each encounter remained their first.

Karyk couldn't devour the time lord before his abilities were activated. At the same time, the Time Lord couldn't escape from Karyk.

The two of them were stuck in a vicious cycle, living the same day again and again. The time lord had it even worse as he had to live this day with the memories of the past.

For him, it was a prison that he couldn't escape. In the end, he simply decided to give up. If it was a prison, then he had to live in this prison and try to find Aether through reliving this day again and again.

He was so tired of living the same day, and suffering alone, that he wanted to drag Karyk through this mess as well.

This time, he told Karyk the reality so he could also suffer at the realization that there was no escaping this cruel time prison, unless one of them gave up.

He wasn't going to give up, as giving up meant dying at Karyk's hand. The only person who could give up was Karyk. Through his memories, he left the decision in Karyk's hands.

Was he going to be stubborn and stay stuck in this time cycle, or was he going to give up on his obsession and go their separate ways? The choice belonged to Karyk, and this time, he couldn't act oblivious.

After the memories finished, the mirror flew back to the young time lord, and disappeared inside his body.

The young man looked at Karyk. Even though he didn't say a single word, his meaning was clear. He was asking Karyk about his decision.

"Why should I believe the things that I saw in the mirror?" Karyk asked the young man, even though he already believed what he had seen.

This was too elaborate to be a scheme. The man really seemed to know about him, which was impossible if they hadn't met before.

He even showed the abilities through the mirror that he hadn't used ever since coming to this world. There was no way that the mirror was going to know him to this extent.

"I won't force you to believe it. Even if you don't believe it, I just have to go through one more day. Maybe the next you will believe the memories when the fiftieth interaction and the disbelief is included in the memories.".

The young man released the Angel's corpse and spread his arms, as if inviting Karyk to attack him.

The man clearly didn't appear scared of death. For him, death was the most ordinary thing ever. After dying almost fifty times, death had become a friend for him.
