Chapter 165 Combat lesson part 1
Chapter 165 Combat lesson part 1
Sweat trickled down Uriel's forehead under the scorching sun, though it had little to do with the heat, sunlight was a luxury most people couldn't afford while living within city walls and everyone made the most of the short period that the sun was directly above their heads. Even in the college campus where the buildings weren't so tall as to cover the sun.

No, the reason why Uriel was sweating was because he was facing against Nika in a serious fight for the first time. He really wanted to land a fist on her beautiful face but, up to that point, the opportunity never presented itself.
It wasn't because he hated her but because she always annoyed him and now she put the whole class against him on the first day of the second semester.
'Just when I thought things would get better.' Uriel inwardly thought and suddenly his point of view shifted. 'Why am I looking at the sky?'
"Lesson one, never pick a fight against someone with a higher rank. Next fight, Moonlight step forward."
"Y-y-yes." Luna stuttered so much it made her look completely helpless.
Uriel was already standing up and ready to fight. His breathing was jagged and he was clearly upset after being defeated with a single leg sweep. When Nika gave the signal Uriel darted forward and hit Luna directly on her cheek, sending her tumbling on the ground though she didn't to let go of her plushie.
"Lesson two, never fight a mean bastard." Nika said, her eyes wide open in surprise. She didn't expect Uriel to be so cruel towards the cute Luna who, not only was one of his friends but also a roommate. But the reason for his actions wasn't mean spirited in the least, actually, he expected her to block the attack as he knew she was supposedly stronger than him.
He hadn't even touched his strength stat since the last time and she had always showcased a superior physical prowess than him.
"I can't believe he hit that child!"
"What a monster."
"I'll make you pay when my turn comes!" One of the male students shouted confidently.
Suddenly, Uriel was able to perceive with his mystical sense the murderous intent emitted by his classmates. Though something like that wasn't really useful considering how obvious they were being.
"You're next smartypants." Nika pointed towards the know it all girl.
"My name is Emma." She replied in a scoff and stood in front of Uriel.
This time Uriel didn't take a step forward and waited patiently for his opponent to make a move. The girl in front of him was clearly a couple years younger than Uriel, something like that was possible since students of all ages could enter college as long as they finished highschool.
That was the reason why Cassandra, who wasn't so keen on studying, was on the same year as Luna, her little sister who was a prodigy.
It could be said that the girl Uriel was facing was also a prodigy, but she may as well come from a wealthy family that could afford private lessons to boost her progress.
"It was a brave thing to punch that girl in the face, I wonder if..." She was cut short by a swift leg sweep, much like the one Nika performed on him a couple minutes earlier.
"Lesson three, don't chitchat unless you're buying time," Nika sighed. "Your turn musclehead."
The next student Uriel had to face was the one who previously nudged Uriel on the chest. He was obviously among the students that picked Nika as his tutor because he thought she was hot. He was a well built tall man a couple years older than Uriel and he wore a short tanktop that revealed his abdominal muscles.
It seemed to be a tough opponent for Uriel as he was highly motivated and in much better form than him, but Uriel remained calm. The reason for this was because his opponent didn't take a stance and instead focused all of his attention to Nika.
When the fight started Uriel threw a light punch to the man's face who blocked it with a smirk.
"Is that all you got?"
"Lesson four, looks can be deceiving. Next..."
"What? Wait, professor Nika, the fight hasn't even started."
"He landed a clean hit on your..." Nika lingered for a few seconds staring at the student's six pack. "Geez! You could chop veggies on those abs."
The student blushed heavily by the compliment on his figure but then he looked down and realized he had been hit on the stomach.
"But I can still fight!"
"No, you cant. Had this been a real fight, instead of a fist that could have been a knife... or a gun."
The movement Uriel performed was similar to the one he used against Rocky. A punch to the face and a shot to the stomach, though now he couldn't use his trait. He didn't want to show his hand, but at the same time, he felt compelled to give his best as it could affect his grades. Even if it was a combat related subject, grades meant the same as the ones from any other subject.
By that point, the students started to realize that Uriel was indeed more experienced than them in combat. He didn't show any hesitation when hitting a girl, he wasn't scared of an opponent much bigger than himself and he didn't fear to choose the instructor as his opponent.
"You're next." Nika pointed towards one of the male students that had shown his despise towards Uriel very enthusiastically before, but now he was having second thoughts.
"I think I'll pass." He replied placing his hands in front of him.
"Oh really? But you chose him yourself. You even scoffed at him for hitting Moonlight and said you'll make him pay for that. You heard that too, right?" Nika asked Moonlight who remained on the same place where she fell before. The reason why she let Uriel hit her without so much as blocking was because she thought it would make a good excuse for laying low the rest of the class.
"Yes..." She said. It looked as though she wanted to say something else, but as soon as she noticed people were listening to her she fell silent.
"So damn cute..." Nika muttered having a hard time not to squeal.
